Moss Bury Primary School

Welcome to Moss Bury Primary School & Nursery!

Mission Statement:

Everybody has the right to thrive by learning, developing, working, and playing in a safe and supportive environment.

I am delighted to welcome you to our website and hope that you enjoy finding out about Moss Bury Primary School & Nursery. I have worked at this school since 2009 and am extremely proud to be a member of a community where the children, staff, governors and parents work together and share in the vision of the school.

The school is situated near central Stevenage with extensive grounds and a wonderful outdoor environment. We are also very proud of to be one of only two schools in Hertfordshire with our very own Specialist Provision for Deaf Children.

What is it like to attend our school?

“Pupils are happy at this nurturing and friendly school where everyone looks after each other”
Ofsted, July 2022

We are an inclusive and ambitious school that puts people at the heart of everything that we do. This is reflected in our school values.

"Leaders are ambitious for all pupils and want them to do their best." Ofsted, July 2022

It is not just the leaders of this school as this quote suggests. We have a fantastic team of staff who go above and beyond every single day to ensure that the children are happy and safe.

"Pupils behave well. They are polite and courteous."
Ofsted, July 2022

We believe that behaviour is at the heart of a successful school, and it is every child’s right to learn in an environment that is safe and supportive. By supporting the school in its pursuit of high standards and the implementation of our behaviour policy, all our parental and wider community are an essential part of the school’s success.

"Pupils are keen and willing learners (and) welcome opportunities to build their skills of independence and resilience. (They) enjoy learning and having a positive impact on the environment and their locality." Ofsted, July 2022

We are proud of the achievements and success of all of our pupils. We use Learning Commitments, which focus upon essential aspects of the curriculum and we ask that all our parents and families support the school and their children’s progress and instilling lifelong, positive habits that will have lasting benefit and impact, are instilled in a supportive and friendly environment.

We also promote our Mossy Explorer scheme which actively drives personal development - ensuring that all of our children are not only well-behaved, but active participants in their love of learning.

If you would like to know more about Moss Bury or would like to enrol your child with us, please contact the school by telephone on 01438 222300 or you can email us at admin@mossbury.herts.sch.uk

We have also produced a parent handbook, which can be found here.
