E-Safety

In today’s digital world, using ‘apps’ and ‘the Internet’ are a vital part of children’s education and are embedded in their learning and play, both at home and at school. It provides amazing opportunities to be creative and expressive, but technology can sometimes seem daunting and lots of parents worry about the risks that their children face online, such as seeing inappropriate content, contact from strangers or even online bullying.

E-safety education has therefore become important to help children stay safe when online. We want to help our parents and children improve their own understanding of e-safety issues so they can learn to use the Internet and all digital media in a safe and secure way.

At the start of each year, we ask all staff, parents and children to sign an Acceptable Use Agreement so that we know everybody involved has read and understood our school rules on keeping safe.   Here is a copy of our Acceptable Use Agreement

At Moss Bury Primary School and Nursery, we teach computing through a scheme of work called Purple Mash. E-Safety is specifically taught in every year group so that throughout the school, children are encouraged and supported to think about their online safety in various situations and how to report and deal with any concerns that they may encounter along the way.   Here is the E-Safety Overview this scheme of work.

We take our childrens’ security and safety extremely seriously and have security measures in place to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. More details of this can be found in our schools E-Safety Policy .

If you have any concerns about your child’s online usage or well-being, please speak to our designated E-Safety Leader -  Mr Newbury.
