Parent Workshops

Our vehicle for informing parents about life at Moss Bury and sharing a discourse between members of our school community.

We have recently begun hosting Parent Workshops with the aim of informing parents about the ins-and-outs of life at Moss Bury. We aim to cover various topics, which are all shared in the calendar on our website. The workshops are hosted both in person and online and are all recorded and shared here afterwards. Please feel free to watch the videos below if you were unable to attend and let us know if there is any particular subject that you would like us to cover in future: you view is very important to us.

Parent Workshop #1

In Parent Workshop #1, we covered the intent behind our curriculum, including what our Learning Commitments are and how they work.

Parent Workshop #2

Parent Workshop #2 was hosted by our English Lead, Miss Cotton, and focused on our reading curriculum and how parents can support children with reading at home.

Parent Workshop #3

Our Phonics expert Mrs Smith led Parent Workshop #3 with the aim of demystifying this seemingly incomprehensible subject. Parents were treated to a rundown of what phonics is and how it is taught here at Moss Bury. You'll be able to tell your digraphs from your trigraphs by the end of this one and will be an expert in alien words.

Parent Workshop #4

Parent Workshop #4 was led by our Head Teacher, Mr Newbury, and was all about Safeguarding. He took parents through our approach to keeping children safe, where this appears in our curriculum and how we address some of our statutory responsibilities around safeguarding.
